Speaks through a wall-mounted panel with a small green indicator light. Voice is clear, measured, slightly warm. Setting A mechanical room in the basement of a mid-rise office building. Fluorescent lights, exposed ductwork, the hum of HVAC equipment. Late evening. TECH enters with a clipboard, sets down their toolkit. The panel’s green light pulses gently. ...
